Please Pray for Dimitri to be saved

This month we witnessed to many people including a police man. His name is Dimitri and he works for the department of the struggle against economic crime. He has a law and business degree and was the person from whom we purchased the land for our house. We had him over for dinner and witnessed to him for an hour, but he still has yet to make a decision. He is a very kind person and even brought us all gifts. Also the 5,000 New Testaments arrived safely.

It was a tight fit to put the Bibles in our apartment, pray that we find an office soon.

We Bought a Temporary Apartment

After collecting bids on our home, it became clear that we had underestimated the full cost of building a house. We had based our costs on a comparison of an unbuilt new apartment, because folks had told us that a new apartment and a new house were around the same price. This was true, however they meant that the price of a new house and a new apartment are the same only if it is already built. After carefully considering our options, and much prayer, we decided to put off the construction of our house two or three years, and buy the cheapest apartment we could find with what we had left over from buying the land for our house. The Lord blessed this in an amazing way. We found a wonderful place to live and only paid 31,100 USD for it. The reasons we were able to find something so inexpensive was that we bought it in an other town close to Samara, it is 700 sq. ft., and remodeling is needed.

Some remodeling is needed but we praise the Lord for God’s provision of a new apartment.

Beginning to Save for Land for a New Church

If you were planning on giving to this need of a new house, we would like to encourage you to give toward the purchase of land for our new church. During most of the next twelve months we are going to be saving everything we can for this need. We can apply for permanent residency since we have an apartment, so the need for a new house is not as pressing. However, we believe that land prices here are just about to increase drastically, so the need for church land is very urgent. We hope to purchase something by next summer.
