Dear Fellow Laborers,

February 2006

Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

We Successfully Moved In

The Lord continues to have us depend on Him in every situation. Through this He shows us that we can depend on Him every time. Although we were planning on moving in to our new apartment at the end of December or beginning of January, we did not get to move in until the beginning of February. During this time we “camped out” in our office in Samara. We are rejoicing even over the delay, because everything turned out just about as good as expected. We now have a beautiful, clean, and safe place to live. During the three months of our remodeling, our head worker was out sick for a month and a half. This afforded me the opportunity to learn first hand how to remodel an apartment here is Russia, were many of the tools, techniques and styles of building are very foreign to us. I personally installed 75% of our plumbing. I plastered, sanded, and painted one of our rooms. I had the opportunity to lay some flooring. The only thing I was not able to accomplish my self was any electrical work, which fine because I do not think the Lord wants to call me home just yet. Really this was a great experience preparing us for the many building programs we will go through, to be more prepared and knowledgeable about the building process itself, as well as negotiating with labor. One other good benefit of this experience was getting to meet and become friends with Misha and Mariana, one our contractors. Please pray for this family to be saved as we continue to present the Gospel to them.

This is a picture of our hallway, and our steel door from the inside. Although many are comparitivly poor here, there are a large amount of folks who save up and buy these doors. The only way to get through one is to knock out the concrete around it.

Hopefully Our Last Trip Across the Border

In order to receive our temporary residency we must have a particular type of visa that only lasts three months, called a private visa. Our current visa ends in February, so we will be traveling to St. Petersburg again and then crossing the Finnish border. We must be in possession of these private visas when we receive our temporary residency, which we are expecting at the end of May. Please pray with us that the Lord with prepare the way for us to get our temporary residency with out any problems.
