Gulya Gets Saved

A sales clerk for whom I asked prayer for got saved this last month. We scheduled a time when I could come to her place of work when it would not be too busy, and I had a good opportunity to present the Gospel clearly to her. She did not pray on the spot, but said she got saved when I asked her later. I wanted Gulya to meet my wife, so we both went to her place of work. Gulya is very shy to begin with and when we invited her over to our house some time, she was very stand offish and said she would only think about it. Since that time I have tried to move more slowly. There is a chance she could have Muslim family members and been a Muslim herself. I gave her a book to read about Christianity, and she said she read it. Please pray that God will work in her heart.

Muslim Lady begins Study of Bible

My wife and I have begun meeting with a 24 year old Muslim lady to study the Bible. We met Zulya while in a toy store in Samara. She was one of the workers and heard us speaking English to our kids. My wife noticed that she seemed very interested in us, and so we introduced ourselves. She said she has an interest in the English language but that she does not get enough practice. I told her that we have an interest in teaching people the Bible, and that she could practice her English with us as long as we talked about the Bible. She agreed and my wife and I met with her. Please pray for wisdom for us in presenting the Gospel to her, and that she would be saved. There is an interest among many people here, including Muslims, to learn English. We believe that we can use this as a tool to present the truths of God’s word to people who would never come to a church setting. Please pray for God’s power and protection as we pursue this ministry.

University Ministry

On the first day of soul-winning in front of the Government Institute of Management I was approached by some of the faculty, after witnessing to about 10 people . These ladies asked me if I would “be so kind” and leave and never come back. I asked them if they owned the spot I was standing on, and they repeated their request to go away. I compromised with them and moved two concrete tiles down (about 6 feet). Praise the Lord that every time I have gone there since to witness, no one has bothered me. Please pray that we will see college kids saved in this ministry.
