Dear Fellow Laborers,

January 2007

Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

Successfully Moved into the New Office

At the end of November our landlord asked us to move out as soon as possible giving us a month to complete the process. We found a place rather quickly and we were ready to begin moving in the first week of December. However, we had a couple of problems arise. First, the pump for our plumbing in our bathroom stopped working. So, we had to buy plumbing which turned out to be a big blessing. The reason for this, was that after visiting the children’s gastroenterological section of our town hospital system, we all promptly got very sick. After all of this, I had about four days to make my deadline to move. Praise the Lord everything was moved in time. Please pray that we will have some stability at our new office. Although we have a contract, if the owner of our new office wants us to leave, there is very little we can do.

This is my office.

Amelia Doing Better

Our daughter from the time she went on solid foods has had some trouble with digesting her food properly. At the gastroenterological section of the hospital system in Samara, they prescribed a long list of drugs. Praise the Lord she is feeling much better now and is off most of the medication. The doctors believe that nothing seriously is wrong, only that her digestive system is developing a little slowly, and everything should be fine.

This is our daughter Amelia.

Thesis about the Beginning of the Universe

While meeting with an internet salesman in my office, I talked to him about what he believed about God. He was a college student and had just defended his thesis on the beginning of our solar system. He said he based his beliefs on science. I talked with him about the complexity of the DNA of humans and how it could not have been formed by random chance. He agreed that it was a statistical impossibility. He replied, “People believe a lot of things, who knows.” I told him that people’s views seem to depend less on empirical evidence and more on their own willingness to except a truth that would change the way they live. Please pray for Alexander’s willingness to except the truth of the Gospel.

This is our new meeting place set up for discipleship.
