Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

New Addition to the Family

We are excited to announce that we are expecting a new addition to our family this year. Angela is due in August and we ask that you pray for the baby and a safe delivery. We are planning on having the baby here in Samara due to difficulty we would encounter trying to get the baby the same residency status that we have. If the baby was born in America, he/she would have to leave Russia every three months until his/her residency status would be approved. However, if the baby is born in Russia, then as we understand the situation right now, we should have no problem with their residency status. We have very good facilities for the prenatal care. The hospital in which we will deliver is not as good but definitely adequate. We ask that you pray for our situation, that God will bless, and that both Angela and the baby will be healthy.

First Translation of Materials for
New Christians Complete

When my wife and I first came to Russia, we noticed right away that there was a great lack of good Christian literature to help people in their walk with Christ. It has been one of our goals for a long time to publish needed materials for local church ministries here that come from a good fundamental Baptist source. My Pastor, Paul Chappell, and some of the staff at our home church have written some really useful books for bringing people to Christ and for new Christians. Very graciously our Pastor has given us the permission to have many of these books translated and we rejoice that our first translation is complete. It is Pastor Chappell’s book about why Christians should abstain completely from the use of alcohol and it is very much needed in our particular field. We look forward to seeing this publishing ministry grow as we have many books translated a year. We are thankful that our Pastor has such a heart for the mission field.
