Soul Winning Prospects

Pray for Alexander who I met while soul-winning in a park next to one of our universities. Although he did not get saved, he showed a lot of interest, and gave me his phone number so that we could meet. On the phone he seems responsive, but we have not been able to set up a time to meet yet, as his schedule is very busy. Pray for Andre and Natasha who we met on our trip to Moscow. Andre is a helicopter pilot in the military and is visiting his family. His family lives in a town about 2 hours from Samara. He and his wife had a son with them, Anton. They were very kind people and we were able to get to know them a little bit during our short time on the train. We exchanged phone numbers and invited them to our house, please pray that they will be able to come, and that they would be saved.

Short Trip to Moscow for Documents

My son’s passport was going to expire this September, so we needed to apply now for a new passport for him. So our whole family took a trip to Moscow. It was a very short trip, we arrived on the overnight train at 6:30 am and left that same day at 5:00 pm. The Lord blessed and we were able to get both Alex’s and Amelia’s passports renewed. What a blessing it was to deal with American bureaucracy (I am writing this with a completely straight face) I am sure it has its bad moments, but comparing it with some of the difficult situations I have seen here, we are really blessed to have it.

Short Note of Thanks

I was looking at real estate prices recently and noticed that they had drastically increased even more than expected. Our apartment that we bought for 31,000 has already increased to 88,000 dollars. God’s timing is perfect, but without the help of many churches who gave sacrificially 21 months ago, we could easily have missed our opportunity to buy something. Without that, it would have been impossible for us to get residency status, and thus our presence in the Volga region of Russia might have been impossible. We are the only Independent Baptist Missionaries in the entire Volga Region of 32 million souls. The land prices for a church within the city are still reachable because apartments or land on Samara’s scenic outskirts are the most in demand. This too however, is bound to increase soon. Please pray with us that we can quickly get the money we need to purchase some land for a church location.
