Dear
Fellow Laborers,
June
2007
Praise
the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!
People
Saved
We
have had some great times soul-winning this month with two professions
of faith, and three new people starting to meet with us for Bible
study. Alexander, who is a first year college student in the teacher
university here, showed some real interest and gave me his phone
number. He got saved, and then invited his friend Anya to come
to my office to hear the Gospel. She agreed with everything I
said, but wanted to think it over some more. Please pray for her
salvation and that Alexander will be faithful to meet with us.
Mixhail also made a profession of faith this month, but his family
is influencing him not to meet with us.
Inna,
a young married mother, found one of our tracks on a bench in
the park and called the number on it to find out more information.
Inna had been a member of a charismatic church in town, but disagreed
with a lot of the things they taught. She did not believe that
everyone who had health problems was automatically unspiritual,
or that when we pray for God to heal someone, that prayer obligates
God to action. She also wondered why almost all of the people
they prayed for were never healed. Inna had never spoken in tongues
because she was never honestly moved to do so by the Holy Spirit.
People at her church called her names whenever she would bring
up these questions, and said she had a “devil” inside
her. She had not been to church in a year and was very depressed.
After our first phone conversation when making sure she was genuinely
saved, my family and I met her for lunch to get better acquainted.
She has committed to a weekly Bible study with us. Please pray
that she would be faithful.
The
Lord blesses with Our Local Bureaucracy
We
needed to get reregistered and due to conflicting information
from our regional office and our local office, we were almost
late registering (we had only twenty minutes to spare after running
around three straight days to get the documents we needed). If
we were late, we would have had to pay an expensive fine. Worst
of all, it might have effected our future residency. Last year
our local official was not very helpful, trying to hinder us from
getting residency. This year something has changed, and she practically
encouraged us to come to her for help. I don’t know what
happened exactly, but this is a great example of how “the
kings heart is in the hand of the Lord” (Proverbs 21:1)
and I know God is in control.
Prayer
Requests
• Angela’s and the baby’s health
and safe delivery
• Salvation for Alexsei, Lyudmilla and Vasilye, Misha and
Marina, Oleg and Lena.
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, and Amelia
