Dear
Fellow Laborers,

Praise

Teaching
English to Reach the Lost
It
is always more difficult here to reach people with the Gospel
during the winter months. The most fruit we have seen has been
from soul-winning outdoors in the parks and on the streets. When
the weather turns cold, so do our results. Alexander, who is a
college student that got saved this summer, recently mentioned
that the English program at his teacher’s university had
recently been discontinued.
When I approached Alexander about reaching his friends with the
Gospel in this way, he was all for it. He thought that many of
his friends would be eager to work on their English, and that
this would be a great tool to introduce the Gospel to them. They
all know that I am a Baptist missionary and want to know what
being a Baptist means.
Our first couple of classes went well. We have had a total of
six in attendance. Anya, who Alexander brought to study the Bible
with us once, has been coming. Also Artryom, Sergie, Zhenya, Olga
have started to come.
Please pray for this outreach. We are only planning on doing this
while it is cold. When it gets warm again, we will then focus
exclusively on street and park evangelism. Pray that by the time
the class ends we will see some fruit that remains.

This is Alexander who is starting the English class with me to
reach his friends with the Gospel.
Moving our Office
Just about every year we have been in the country we have had
to move our office/meeting place. I thought that maybe this year
would be different, but our land lady just told us that she was
going to raise the rent to twice as much as we could possibly
pay for a one room apartment. Right now we could get by doing
what we do (one on one discipleship and English classes) in a
one room apartment. It will be a little cramped, but the sooner
we can get our own place to meet the better, and what we save
on rent can go to building programs. We are also buying a small
storage shed to put on our land for building materials and New
Testaments so moving will be easier next time. Please pray that
we will be able to find a place that we will be able to use for
God’s glory, but that the price would be right.
Furlough
in the Planning
We
are expecting to receive an answer about our permanent residency
in February. We are waiting until then to schedule churches from
September through the first week of November 2008. Our furloughs
will be shorter at three months (in order to keep our residency),
but we want to come to America every two years so that we can
report to all of our churches.
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
