Dear
Fellow Laborers,

Praise
the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!
Reaping
A Long Time After Sowing
I
met Galya in the park last summer soul-winning. She did not get
saved at the time, but seemed very open to the Gospel and gave
me her phone number so that we could schedule a time to study
the Bible further. I called and called but no one answered. I
thought I might have written her telephone number down incorrectly.
I gave up calling her about a month after we met. Six months later,
I got a phone call from Galya saying that she was interested in
the Bible. Praise the Lord! This was a big step for her as she
has trouble trusting people (many people here do). She still has
not gotten saved yet, but is meeting weekly with my wife and I
to study the Bible. Please pray that she will be saved.
English Class Christmas Fellowship
We had a great time of fellowship as we celebrated the holiday
season with our English class. We had five in attendance. Angela
made pizza for every one and she also made the best peanut butter
fudge I have ever tasted. (Of course it was the only peanut butter
fudge I had ever tasted, but it won’t be the last!) We sang
Christmas hymns in English, and explained some of the traditions
Americans hold to. We also talked about the reason for the season
being the birth of the Saviour Jesus Christ. Our plan now is to
invite each person in our English class to our home so that we
can witness to them more one on one. Alexander, the young man
in the group who got saved, is excited about how his friends are
enjoying the class. Please pray with him that many of his friends
will be saved.
First
Structure in Place for Our House Church
The
Lord led us to buy a large construction shed this last month.
In Russia, when there is a construction project going on, the
workers usually sleep at the site to make sure that nothing gets
stolen. It looks like to save money, we will be doing much of
the construction ourselves. This means that we will need to safeguard
our tools and construction materials. These types of buildings
here need to be pretty heavy duty. Our shed was made with 2 mm
thick sheets of steel and a heavy duty door with two locks. The
only way to break into it would be to cut through it with a blow
torch. Our next step will be to get the architectural drawings
done, and with that the permits that we will need. This will be
the largest one time expenditure of the whole project. We are
hoping to have the money for it by this summer. Please pray for
this project, the sooner we get this done, the sooner we can sell
our apartment to buy a wooden single family home in the center
of Samara and transform it into a church building!
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
