Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

Three More Saved

I met Kim while soul-winning near a teacher’s university, although he is a student at another college. Kim’s grandfather came as a student to Russia from the Congo. The Soviet Union tried to influence many countries with their teachings by giving students an inexpensive education. His grandfather never moved back though and married a Russian lady. Kim’s father has lived in America for awhile, and Kim lived there himself for five years. He is really in between two cultures, but considers himself Russian. When I witnessed to him, you could tell that he was under conviction. Later, when we met for lunch, he told me that he had accepted Christ, but was afraid of discipleship. He wants to fit in here and no one is more on the outside in Russian society, than people who are not Russian Orthodox. Pray for Kim to be faithful to the Lord and not to men.
Aleksei - He is a seventeen year old in his first year at college. He got saved, but already had plans to leave town for the summer. Pray for Aleksei to be faithful when we get back from furlough, he has committed to study the Bible with us.
Dimitri - He is a 44 year old man who has some health problems related to a work injury. I called him a day after I witnessed to him, and he said he had gotten saved. When I was witnessing to him the day before, it was obvious that he would have resistance at home from his wife if he made a decision for Christ. It looks like this is exactly what happened, pray for him to be faithful to God.

Discipleship

Vadim from our last prayer letter has been doing wonderful with discipleship. Satan has worked though, as some Jehovah’s Witnesses showed up at his door challenging his new faith. He talked with me about the things they had said and thankfully, we had already established a good foundation with the Bible being the authority by which teaching is tested. After looking at the deity of Christ, and the existence of hell, Vadim was convinced they themselves did not understand the Bible.

God Works on Alexander’s Behalf

Thank you for praying for Alexander V. He received the results from his last x-ray, and the doctors were stunned. All the damage that they had seen earlier from the tuberculosis was gone. The best case scenario they had said, if the medication worked, was to see improvement in six months. Thank you all for your prayers.
