Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

Building Permit Process Begun

After going to about six different architects, we have found the one I believe God would have us to work with. The process of finding the right one took about 4 months. In Russia many times things just take a long time. For example, at some architects I needed a pass to get in to his office. If there was a line this could take twenty minuts. Then you show him what you need, then he spends the next hour telling you what he would like to build you. (it woud be easier for him to build you some thing he already has pre-approved, and he could charge you the same price for something that cost him no time at all.)
The good news is while we are on furlough, the building plans will still be going forward. This is great news becasue otherwise, we would not have enough time to get everything done before the beginning of the building season. With winter being so long, we have a small window to try to get as much done as we can. We will have to get the permits for gas and eletircy ourselves, but we do not have to have them to begin building. Please pray with us about these permits as they are the most difficult.

Witnessing to the Wife

Vadim has been doing very well with his discipleship. He is a tourist agent by trade. Vadim’s wife had became interested in what Vadim was studying. Many times family members are horrified that someone they love have become a member of a Baptist “sect”. Many of our converts have yet to tell there family members that they are studying with us. At one of our meetings this month Vadim’s wife just showed up. I put aside the lesson for that day and Vadim and I just spent the whole time witnessing to her. Vadim is pretty young in his faith, but has an obvious burden for his wife. She listened very well but did not make a decision. Her name is Liliya. They are coming over to our house before we leave for America, please pray that she will be saved.

Usually we do not do our yearly video until the end of the year, but we needed to included many things that had recently taken place in our furlough presentation, so we did the video early this year. It is available already on our web site, and each supporting church will be receiving a copy of is soon. This is our furlough presentation, so if we have scheduled your church this furlough we will be showing it when we come.
