Dear Fellow Laborers,

September 2008

Praise the Lord for the exciting things He is doing in Russia!

People saved while Preaching in America

Missionaries often enter into other people’s labors. This is especially true when we come back from the field and have the privilege of preaching in America. While preaching at New Hope Baptist Church in Santa Rosa, California the Lord blessed. After a Sunday morning service, two people came forward to accept Christ. I did very little but deliver the Word of God. The church members invited the people. Praise the Lord for faithful soul-winning churches in America!

Arrived in America

We have arrived in America. Praise the Lord for His provision. We had no problems at the border. It did take a while because the border officer had never seen our type of documents before. After making a mistake with our documents, a more experienced person showed him how to do it. In Russia, you can never be absolutely sure that everything is going to work out until you go through it yourself.
After getting a car loan, purchasing a car, stocking up on clothes, doctor’s appointments, and taking a little vacation, we are now on furlough. In the month of September we will be traveling over 5000 miles at least. Please pray for safety as we travel.

Witnessing One Last Time

We tried to witness to as many of our friends as we could one last time before we left for America. Vadim’s wife came over and although she had a good time and I think feels more comfortable around us now, she did not get saved. We also had our neighbors over who we have been witnessing to for a while now. They were still not interested either. We had a few other groups of people over and unfortunately there were no salvations to report. However, that is why we need to go back to Russia after furlough; for the sake of people willing to listen, but who have yet to decide for Christ.

Pray for Our Converts

While we are in the states, we are keeping in contact with most of our converts through the internet. This is not a perfect situation for sure, but there are no independent Baptists in our area to help us with this. We could have tried to wait to go on furlough for other missionaries to come and help us. There are new missionaries coming, but they won’t come for another two years, and when they get here, it will take some time for them to learn the language. We are continuing our lessons through an instant messaging program but because of the 12 hour time difference it is proving difficult to schedule. Please pray for all our converts.

Yours in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
