Lancaster: Land of Salvations
I was soul-winning Saturday morning in Lancaster, California, when I met a 16 year old boy named Junior. Junior’s parents apparently ran a beauty salon out of their garage, and Junior was cutting someone’s hair. We talked for a little bit, and then I got right to the point. Junior was very open and readily admitted he was a sinner. He listened to the Gospel intently. When I asked him if he would like to pray, he was ready and asked Christ to save him.
While waiting in the lobby of Lancaster Baptist Church to be taken to a preaching opportunity at a nearby military base, a business man came in to meet with someone concerning high school uniforms. The person he wanted to see was not in the office, and we had some polite small talk when he mentioned his church. He went to some non-denominational church that was a long ways from Lancaster. He said he had considered visiting Lancaster Baptist but had never gotten around to it. I told him that the most important thing was going to Heaven. He said that he did not know for sure that he was going to Heaven. He listened very well. I told him that probably he had heard most of what I was saying before and that he might have at some time in his life asked Christ to save him. However, since he could not remember ever asking Jesus to save him, and said he was not sure about Heaven, the chances seemed very slim that he was saved. He agreed and asked to pray right there in the lobby. I told him that it would be a good idea to ask his family about whether or not they were sure about Heaven. He said that He would.
We also had the opportunity to talk to Danufe. She is a Lithuanian lady who speaks Russian and some English. We met her at the Missions Conference in Lancaster. My wife and I witnessed to her a lot but she is still not saved. She very much wants to talk and make friends with people. I have to continually steer our conversation back to the Gospel. Please pray for all of these, but especially for Danufe who still is not saved.
More Traveling
When I bought our van for furlough it had 19,000 miles on it. After two months of traveling, it now has 32,000 miles. These months do not include the longest trips we will need to take to Texas in December. We are doing a lot of traveling, but that is because we have a lot a lot of churches to see. Thank you to everyone with whom we were able to stay with last month. You all were an incredible blessing.
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
