Dear
Fellow Laborers,
February 2009
Praise the Lord for the exciting things that are happening in Russia!
We Arrived Back with No Problems
We left San Francisco, January 20th, and arrived in Samara, Russia on the 22nd. There is a lot of traveling involved and when we go back to Russia, we lose 12 hours because of the time zones. Our original flight had been canceled without notice, but they found us another one going through different cities that had us arriving in Samara a half hour earlier. We had no problems getting through passport control. In the past, I have always been nervous because in different places when you travel with a visa, they always require something different of you. For example, they may want multiple photo copies of your visa and/or passport, and you would never know how many to bring. I used to bring four copies of our visa, passport and other documents and they would still give me trouble, and act like they would not let us through. With residency, there was no trouble and it felt great, praise the Lord.
Building Program on Schedule
We met with our architect and although the process was inevitably slowed down a bit by us not being here, there was enough progress made that we should still be on schedule to finish much of the building by the end of the year. Please pray for our electricity and gas permits as they are the most difficult to get, but I believe God is able to get us these permits. Also, please pray that financially we will be able to pay for everything on time. We are trying to save money at every turn and rejoice that the dollar has become much stronger against the ruble, but we will still need God’s help. Thank you for praying for us.
Converts Still Excited About the Lord
As we have contacted all of our converts and met with many of them to begin studying the Bible again, we have found out that many changes have taken place. Some have lost their jobs, or have found new jobs. However, one thing has not changed and that is their desire to meet and study the Word of God. What a blessing to see the faithfulness of new converts. Please pray for Angela as she will deliver before our next prayer letter. She plans to deliver in the same hospital that Alisa was born in, and although everything looks fine so far, we still would appreciate your prayers for her.
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, and Alisa
