Dear
Fellow Laborers,
July 2009
Praise the Lord for the exciting things that are happening in Russia!
Vadim’s Decision to be Baptized
Please pray for Vadim to be baptized. We have been working with him for a little more than a year. His progress has been steady because he has been very faithful to our discipleship program. The topic of baptism came up in our lessons, and he should make a decision soon. Please also pray for the leadership of our football team to whom I will be witnessing to in the next couple of weeks, Kolya and Vova.
Electricity Connected
After much prayer and sacrifice I am happy to report that we were able to connect electricity to our land! This is a little ahead of schedule, as I was planning on using generators for this stage of construction but the opportunity to connect presented itself. It will be cheaper in the long run because it is more expensive to run tools off of a generator than to plug them into the wall. Although connecting was a significant expense, I do not foresee this expense slowing our project down. This is also an answer to prayer because even though the electrical outlets have been physically connected to our building shed, we will easily be able to transfer it over to the house/church once we build it. We should also receive our main building permit in the next week or so. As our architect understands it, the document has been prepared and is sitting on a desk waiting to be signed.
Progress on Gas
We also received some good news concerning connecting to the gas. We filled out an official statement requesting connection to gas about a month and a half ago. We have now received a document called the “technical conditions”. This is the document that tells us what our building gas system must look like in order for them to connect it. Now we order a schematic plan of the gas system, which then must be approved and installed. This process should take six months which means we won’t be able to heat the house this winter. However, we should get it connected at the beginning of spring if we are able to finish the walls this year. Things are moving and the number of obstacles that could stop this project are dwindling. Praise the Lord.
Yours
in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, Alisa, and Austin
