Nina Gets Saved

You might remember that we started discipling two new ladies a couple of months ago. Their names are Ludmilla and Nina. In the first lesson of the “Daily in the Word” discipleship program, there is a part where you make sure that the person you are discipling is truly saved. Both Nina and Ludmilla had said they were saved before, but this time I really pressed them on it. Ludmilla was very clear about her testimony, and about how she came to Christ. Nina was very hesitant. She had said a prayer, but since then had had doubts about it. Apparently her son in his eagerness, got her to say this prayer, and she did not really understand what she had prayed. I told her that in order to have Biblical faith, there must first be an understanding of what you are putting your faith in. She had been pretty down lately, because this same son that had wanted to see her saved, has now strayed far from the Lord. I told her she could pray right there in the cafe in which we meet, because she definitely understood now. After accepting Christ, the look of a mother whose heart had given up on her son, was replaced by one of joy. Her eyes moistened with the beginnings of tears which had no place to go because her smile was getting in the way. Here is a lady who did not have a whole lot to smile about, now has everything to smile about. Please pray for Nina and Ludmilla, and Nina’s son Sasha.

Nothing Can Hinder God’s Power

We have not heard any official word yet about the new laws being considered that would greatly hinder our freedom here. However, we have heard a rumor from another area of the country indicating that the laws have already passed. Sometimes laws come in to effect here without very much warning. In fact, sometimes the first time you hear of a new law is after you have broken it. The rumor came from a church, which believed it enough to make an announcement about the change to their congregation. If the laws did pass, it does not mean that God is done working in Russia. In many countries with less freedom, God is doing great works. In fact, this may be the very thing that will cause many to come to Christ. However, we do have to find our niche in this new landscape, which will require great wisdom. We ask that you continue to pray for us, that the Lord would allow us to have a long ministry here. Thank you.

Yours in Christ,
Adam, Angela, Alex, Amelia, Alisa, and Austin
