Kolya Reading Bible

Kolya is the quarterback on the football team that we started as another outreach of our church. I have witnessed to him on a couple of occasions, but did not see a lot of interest. However, he recently wrote me a message over the computer saying that he was never interested in religion but had now changed his mind. We met at a cafe and talked for an hour about his questions concerning God. I gave him a Bible, and he comes to me every week at practice with questions about what he has been reading. I have offered many times to take him though our discipleship program, but he says he wants to go through the Bible himself. Please pray for Kolya. Many Russians are afraid of being fooled by a religious sect. Kolya is cautious, but he is interested.

No News on Religious Laws

Thank you for praying about this. Many of you have contacted me personally and said that you have really taken this up with the Lord and that is a great blessing. Sometimes I wish things like this would just reach some kind of a resolution, but many times they don’t, and that is part of God’s plan to keep me praying. I will let you know the minute I know anything new.

Budget on the House/Church

I wanted to let everyone know where we stood on the budget for the building program. Originally we thought it would be around $80,000 to get the church part of the building done. However, the foundation needed to be completely reworked, which added 20,000 to the price. We had professionals do all the work in the foundation, but I will personally do most of the future labor. When you read “by November” in the budget this means we are counting on our average future support to come in, and should have the needed money by this time. 75% of all this cost will come out of our support and we are committed to seeing this through.

Our goal is to get everything done by November so that we can have heat in order to remodel the church space. There is still snow on the ground here, but we plan to start construction again this month.
