Dear
Fellow Laborers,

My
first Funeral in Samara
Nina and Lydmilla had been discipling with us for about
8 months before they called and said that they would not be studying
the Bible with us any more. I was shocked. These two sisters were
two of my favorite people to meet with on Sundays and go through
the Word of God. I am still not exactly sure why they wanted to
stop, but at the time they mentioned some of the things I said
about discipleship just seemed too hard. It seems that when the
commitment God wanted them to make seemed a little overwhelming
to them, instead of drawing closer to God, Nina and Lydmilla started
looking for someone who would tell them something easier to hear.
I still tried to keep in contact with them, and so on March 8th,
International Women’s Day, we called and wished them all
the best. Then a few Sundays ago, I got a call from Nina. Her
son Sasha (who was about 28 years old) had passed way. I don’t
want to go into too much detail, but we had prayed for Sasha a
great deal. He had made a profession of faith, and was actually
the catalyst for the whole family getting saved. However, he had
since drifted away from God and the sin that he had participated
in ended up taking his life. I had invited him several times to
study the Bible with us. Twice, as we were studying in Nina’s
home he was there listening, although not saying anything. When
Sasha died, they called me the next day with great sorrow in their
hearts for Sasha but also a new desire to fully commit their lives
to Christ. I preached Sasha’s funeral and two of his unsaved
co-workers heard the Gospel. Sasha’s sister Sveta has committed
to studying the Bible as well. We had Nina, Lydmilla, Sveta, and
her two children Artyom and Karina over to our house. Please pray
that through this tragedy God would give this family grace to
do His will even when it seems difficult.

Video Report complete and
Available on our Website
Our
2010 report video can be viewed at our website on the resource
page. We had two major events take place in 2010 that we mainly
focused on. The great progress on our house/church which we praise
God for, and the development of our unique American football ministry
through which we hope to see many people saved. Most of the football
team is not saved yet, so I hope that as you watch the video you
will pray with me that God will do a work in the hearts of these
young men.
